Basketball Recap: Ovilla Christian Now 9-2 over Last 11 Games

A well-balanced attack led Ovilla Christian over Fellowship Academy in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. The Ovilla Christian Eagles put the hurt on the Fellowship Academy Mustangs with a sharp 65-41 win. Given the Eagles' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 603rd, while the Mustangs are ranked 1354th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Fellowship Academy's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Bryce Baker, who posted 14 points in addition to eight rebounds and four blocks, and Harper Clark, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 34.1% of Fellowship Academy's points, marking the fourth time in a row he's had more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Connor Fountain, who put up four points and 11 rebounds.

Ovilla Christian has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.5 points per game. As for Fellowship Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Ovilla Christian didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 74-60 victory against Calvary Academy on the 6th. As for Fellowship Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Covenant Classical at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
