Basketball Recap: Winfield Takes a Loss

Winfield lost against Nitro back in February, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Winfield Generals fell 61-49 to the Nitro Wildcats. The Generals' loss continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

It was another big night for Ashton Crouch, who dropped a double-double with 21 points and 13 boards for Nitro. The dominant performance gave Crouch a new career-high in rebounds. Timmy Lovejoy was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight boards and three blocks.

Winfield's defeat dropped their record down to 12-10. As for Nitro, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Winfield will take on Point Pleasant at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Winfield is facing Point Pleasant at the right time seeing as Point Pleasant is stuck on an eight-game losing streak. Nitro does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
