Palisade and Pomona squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but Palisade had to settle for second. They fell 42-29 to the Panthers. The Bulldogs' loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

Palisade's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Cade Carter, who rushed for 96 yards and one TD on only 13 carries, and Carter Hayward, who rushed for 33 yards and one score. Carter's longest rush was for an impressive 58 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total. Speaking of playmakers, who could forget Dylon Larson, who went all the way with a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Pomona was led to victory by Luis Santana and Tucker Ingersoll. Santana gained 176 total yards and two touchdowns, while Ingersoll rushed for 37 yards and one touchdown.

Palisade's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Pomona, their victory was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-1.

Palisade does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Pomona, they will face off against Windsor at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Panthers 14.1, the Wizards 5.4) so any points scored will be well earned.
