Football Recap: Hallsville Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Lawson Burks and Landon Cunningham

Hallsville lost against Centralia back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Indians took a 36-28 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. While the Indians didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Panthers 13-6 in the first quarter.

Landon Cunningham and Lawson Burks certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Cunningham threw for 243 yards and two TDs while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, while Burks gained 94 total yards and two touchdowns.all of that, receiving production came thanks to one massive catch

Hallsville's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Centralia, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Hallsville and Centralia will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Indians will take on rival Boonville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Centralia is set to face off against their familiar foe Clark County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
