Volleyball Recap: Hershey Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Hershey had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Saturday. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Maxwell Wildcats. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since September 20th.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Hershey who won the one that mattered. The final score came out to 25-23, 22-25, 25-17.

Demi Damoude paced Hershey's offense, picking up 11 kills. Damoude got some help from Kenna Bringewatt and her 15 assists. Bringewatt also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Ella Thompson, each putting up two.

Despite the defeat, Maxwell had strong showings from Ellys Gosnell, who had nine digs and one assist, and Kristyn Cheek, who had 13 kills, four digs, and one block. Cheek is on a roll when it comes to kills, as she's now had six or more in each of the last six games she's played.

Hershey's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Maxwell, their loss dropped their record down to 13-10.

Hershey has already played their next match (against Dundy County-Stratton), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Maxwell, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 2-1 win against St. Patrick's on the 11th.
