Basketball Game Preview: Grass Lake Warriors vs. Michigan Center Cardinals

Grass Lake hasn't had much luck against Michigan Center recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Grass Lake Warriors will square off against the Michigan Center Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. Grass Lake is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Last Tuesday, Grass Lake never let Manchester onto the board and left with a 1-0 victory. The one-point effort marked the Warriors' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Meanwhile, Michigan Center beat Leslie 55-44 on Tuesday. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 146th, while the Blackhawks are ranked 412th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Michigan Center's win was their 17th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 15-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.0 points per game. As for Grass Lake, their record now sits at 16-0.

Grass Lake didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Michigan Center when the teams last played back in January, but they still walked away with a 39-34 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Grass Lake since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
