Softball Game Preview: Franklin Wildcats vs. Bellbrook Golden Eagles

The Franklin Wildcats will head out to square off against the Bellbrook Golden Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Franklin is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They never let Oakwood get on the board and left with a 21-0 victory on Tuesday. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by ten runs or more this season.

Meanwhile, Bellbrook entered their tilt with Xenia Nazarene Christian on Tuesday with six consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 1-0 W against the Warriors. Give the Golden Eagles' pitching crew some credit: that's the team's third straight shutout.

Bellbrook's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-5. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Franklin, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-3.

Franklin took their victory against Bellbrook in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 17-6 score. Will the Wildcats repeat their success, or do the Golden Eagles have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
