Football Recap: Aptos Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Aptos extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 1-6. They were outmatched by the Palma Chieftains and fell 42-14. While losing is never fun, the Mariners can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 503rd, while the Chieftains are ranked 103rd).

Although Aptos took the loss, they still got scores from Caden Bogle and Froylan Lomeli.

As for Palma, the win keeps them at an undefeated 6-0. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 47.2 points this season.

It was another big night for David Garcia, who rushed for 115 yards and three TDs. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 54 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaden Paul, who picked up 99 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Coincidentally, Aptos and Palma will both be playing Salinas the next time they take the field. The Chieftains will host the Cowboys at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Mariners will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on the 23rd.
