Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sterling). They put the hurt on the Paulsboro Red Raiders with a sharp 16-5 victory on Thursday. Winning may never get old, but the Silver Knights sure are getting used to it with their 11th in a row.

Luke Lomax was a standout: he went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Evan Miller, who went 3-for-4 with four runs and three RBI.

Sterling was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .304 or higher in three consecutive matchups.

Sterling pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Paulsboro, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Looking ahead, Sterling will venture away from home to take on Eastern at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Vikings' pitching crew has only allowed 3.6 runs per game this season, so the Silver Knights' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Paulsboro, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Salem at 4:00 p.m. The Rams have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 9.7 runs per game on average), something the Red Raiders will no doubt try to take advantage of.
