Baseball Recap: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. Lincoln Cardinals
Roosevelt was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Lincoln Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 8-1 on Thursday.
Dean Fillinger was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he pitched six innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits.
On the hitting side, Roosevelt saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mitch Geiger, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.
Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Lincoln, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-12.
