Softball Recap: Geneseo Drops Highest Score of Season Against Princeton

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Sherrard, Geneseo was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 13-10 win over the Princeton Tigers. The Maple Leafs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Kendyl Wassenhove spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and nine unearned) runs on six hits and racked up eight Ks.

At the plate, Lillian Brown was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-5. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Kolby Causemaker also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Geneseo hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They are 2-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Geneseo's record is now 3-4. As for Princeton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Geneseo will look to defend their home field on Saturday against Orion at 10:00 a.m. As for Princeton, they are taking a road trip to face off against Marquette at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
