Football Game Preview: St. Anthony's Friars vs. Cardinal Hayes Cardinals

The St. Anthony's Friars will face off against the Cardinal Hayes Cardinals at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (St. Anthony's has four straight wins, Cardinal Hayes has seven straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

On Friday, St. Anthony's got the win against Fordham Prep by a conclusive 39-13. Considering the Friars have won four matchups by more than 25 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

While losing is never fun, the Cardinals can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York football rankings (they are ranked 46th, while the Lions are ranked second).

St. Anthony's victory bumped their record up to 6-4. As for Cardinal Hayes, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7.

Everything came up roses for St. Anthony's against Cardinal Hayes in their previous meeting back in October, as the squad secured a 42-14 win. In that contest, the Friars amassed a halftime lead of 28-0, an impressive feat they'll look to repeat on Friday.
