Football Recap: Carrollton Extends Winning Streak to Four

With a playoff win on the line, Carrollton rose to the challenge on Saturday. They strolled past the Dupo Tigers with points to spare, taking the game 34-19. The win was familiar territory for the Hawks, who have now won four contests in a row.

Carson Flowers was a one-man wrecking crew as he threw for 363 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 11.0 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 51 yards and one TD. Those 363 passing yards gave him a new career-high. Carrollton also got help from Reed Schnettgoecke, who showed off his sure hands for 116 receiving yards.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Carrollton proved: they limited Dupo to a paltry two yards per carry. The Hawks' ground attack was stronger, having averaged 3.2.

Despite the loss, Dupo still got an impressive performance from Deegan Prater, who threw for 267 yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 36 yards. The Tigers' leading receiver Thinh Staggs was Prater's top target yet again, picking up 68 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

Carrollton's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Dupo, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 9-2.

Carrollton didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 37-13 loss against Brown County on the 15th. Dupo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
