Basketball Recap: Monroe Has No Trouble Against Peach County

Monroe was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last match, but they sure didn't let that happen against Peach County on Friday. The Monroe Golden Tornadoes put the hurt on the Peach County Trojans with a sharp 77-52 victory. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Golden Tornadoes also won the last time the pair played back in February of 2023.

It was another big night for Lorenzo Still, who went 12 of 16 on his way to 27 points. James Adams was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals.

Monroe was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Monroe is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.5 points per game. As for Peach County, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-11.

Monroe has already played their next contest, a 66-38 win against Bainbridge on the 18th. As for Peach County, they will challenge Westover at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
