Baseball Recap: Golden Valley Comes Up Short

Golden Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Atwater Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, with their most recent loss being a 15-2 defeat last Wednesday.

Golden Valley's loss dropped their record down to 8-13. As for Atwater, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season.

Golden Valley and Atwater will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Cougars see the field they'll take on Hughson at 10:00 a.m. on the 23rd. As for Atwater, their break will end when they face St. Joseph Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on the 21st.
