Basketball Game Preview: Academy Charter vs. American History Eagles

Academy Charter will take on the American History Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Last Saturday, Academy Charter took a blow against Shore Regional, falling 69-37.

Meanwhile, American History's undefeated season came to an end after three games last Monday. They were outmatched by Arts and fell 85-49. The loss was the Eagles' first of the season.

Academy Charter will need focus on slowing down Ahmad Davis, one of several American History players who made an impact when they last played. He posted 15 points along with six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ah'Zeah Woodard, who put up 11 points and three steals.

Even though they lost, American History smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in four consecutive matches.

Academy Charter dropped their record down to 1-3 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for American History, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.
