Basketball Recap: Pikes Peak Christian Comes Up Short

Pikes Peak Christian easily dispatched Hanover last Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Pikes Peak Christian Eagles fell just short of the Custer County Bobcats by a score of 52-50 on Tuesday. The contest marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Despite the loss, Pikes Peak Christian still got an impressive performance from Eddie Harmon, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 rebounds. Harmon's evening made it eight games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Max Singler, who posted ten points and six boards.

Even though they lost, Pikes Peak Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive boards in 16 consecutive matchups dating back to last season.

With the defeat, Pikes Peak Christian broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for Custer County, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-5.

Pikes Peak Christian will welcome Evangel Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Custer County has already played their next contest (against Primero), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
