Softball Recap: Kealakehe Has No Trouble Against Kea'au

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Waiakea, Kealakehe was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Kea'au Cougars. The Waveriders have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Cougars, too.

Emalia Emmsley was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. What's more, she gave up only three walks, the fewest she's had since back in March of 2024. She was also big at the plate, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 4-for-5. Those four hits gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Rihanna Joaquin was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-5. That's the most hits she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Saige Telles, who scored three runs while going 2-for-5.

Kealakehe was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kea'au only posted a batting average of .136.

Kealakehe now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Kea'au, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season.

As of now, neither Kealakehe nor Kea'au have any future games scheduled.
