Volleyball Recap: Castro Valley Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Win

Castro Valley entered their tilt with Piedmont on Wednesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Highlanders. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 on October 2nd.

While Castro Valley won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-18, 25-19.

Tessa Smith #16 paced Castro Valley's offense, picking up 15 kills. Smith #16 got some help from Maddie Lew and her 29 assists. Lew was also solid from the service line: she led the team with two aces.

Castro Valley's win bumped their record up to 18-9. As for Piedmont, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-10 record this season.

Castro Valley has already played their next match, a 3-0 victory against Berkeley on the 23rd. As for Piedmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 3-1 loss against Bishop O'Dowd on the 24th.
