Football Recap: Escondido Takes a Loss

Wednesday just wasn't the day for Escondido's offense. They had to suffer through a 38-0 loss at the hands of the Escondido Charter Tigers. The Cougars lost against the Tigers in their previous head to head back in September of 2024, too, but the margin this time around was even wider than the 19-6 score last time.

Escondido Charter's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Emma Ortega led the charge by throwing for 107 yards and three TDs. Those three passing touchdowns gave Ortega a new career-high. Faith Grayson was another key pass catcher, picking up 41 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Escondido's loss dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Escondido Charter, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Escondido will welcome Rancho Bernardo at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Escondido Charter, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mission Hills at 3:30 p.m. on Monday.
