Softball Recap: Lynn Classical Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Lynn Classical had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Friday. They were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Melrose Red Raiders. The Rams have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Red Raiders, too.

Aysia Olaes was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Olaes was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two RBI.

In other batting news, Brooke Braswell was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Olivia Rodriguez, who went 3-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.

Lynn Classical was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 9-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Lynn Classical's win bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Melrose, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lynn Classical will welcome Medford at 4:15 p.m. on Monday. As for Melrose, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westport at 4:15 p.m. on Monday.
