Jason De La Cruz was his usual excellent self, rushing for 286 yards and four scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Orosi was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 308 rushing yards. They are a perfect 9-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.
Orosi didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Anthony Bravo. Orosi received some extra help from Damian Arciga, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.
Meanwhile, Mira Monte was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They blew past Foothill 28-7. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Lions have posted against the Trojans since April 23, 2021.
Orosi better keep an eye on Nathan Gonzales. He was instrumental in Mira Monte's win, rushing for 236 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. Gonzales' rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 21st straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Orosi's victory bumped their record up to 9-3. As for Mira Monte, their win bumped their record up to an identical 9-3.
Friday's matchup might be decided on the ground. Orosi has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 296.4 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Mira Monte struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 264 rushing yards.
