Softball Recap: Cajon Snags Fourth Win in Last Five Games

Cajon won the last time they faced Citrus Valley and things went their way on Thursday too. The Cowboys walked away with a 5-2 win over the Blackhawks. Surprisingly, this marked the Cowboys' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.

The team relied heavily on Ci'Ella Pickett, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Rylee Torres was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI.

Cajon has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.6 runs on average over those games. As for Citrus Valley, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-10 record this season.

Cajon has already played their next contest, a 10-5 loss against Schurr on the 19th. As for Citrus Valley, they will host Redlands East Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Blackhawks are facing the Wildcats at the right time seeing as the Wildcats are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
