Patrick County is a perfect 10-0 against Floyd County since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out on the road to take on the Buffaloes at 5:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Patrick County 3.9, Floyd County 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Patrick County proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by eight) and on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out Radford 7-6. The win continues a trend for the Cougars in their matchups with the Bobcats: they've now won six in a row.

Meanwhile, Floyd County entered their matchup against Bassett on Wednesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Buffaloes fell just short of the Bengals by a score of 7-6.

Zach Turpin put in work no matter where he played. He struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up three earned runs off four hits. Turpin was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, Daecan Slaughter made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. He also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Adam Petty was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Patrick County's victory bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Floyd County, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 11-5.

Patrick County came out on top in a nail-biter against Floyd County when the teams last played back in April, sneaking past 2-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cougars since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
