Basketball Recap: Astronaut Takes a Loss

Astronaut was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They fell 70-58 to the Father Lopez Green Wave. The War Eagles were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Wave apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Father Lopez's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Cole Brower, who posted 25 points and seven rebounds. The dominant performance gave Brower a new career-high in points. Caden Keller was another key player, putting up 18 points.

Astronaut's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Father Lopez, their win bumped their record up to 6-8.

Astronaut didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 63-46 loss against Merritt Island on the 10th. Father Lopez has also already played their next game, a 55-53 defeat against Spruce Creek on the 10th.
