Baseball Game Preview: El Camino Wildcats vs. Mt. Carmel Sundevils

For the second straight game, El Camino will face off against Mt. Carmel. The Wildcats will face off against the Sundevils at 10:30 a.m. on Friday.

El Camino barely beat Mt. Carmel the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Wildcats blew past the Sundevils 10-1 on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the match before.

Ethan Stelzer made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 5.1 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because El Camino is undefeated when he allows at most two earned runs, but 9-11 otherwise. Stelzer was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

In other batting news, El Camino got a massive performance out of Isaiah Saldivar, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. Jonathan Mount was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

El Camino lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in March.

El Camino's victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 12-11. As for Mt. Carmel, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 14-9.
