Recap: Pinnacle Pioneers vs. Hamilton Huskies
After a string of four wins, the Pinnacle Pioneers's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Hamilton by a score of 51-48. Pinnacle was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Hamilton apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Several Pioneers players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Braylon Johnson, who scored 24 points along with 8 rebounds. Johnson scored a full 50% of Pinnacle's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Nelson, who scored 10 points.
Pinnacle's loss dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Hamilton, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Pinnacle and Corona del Sol will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 11th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Corona del Sol is ranked 16th, while Pinnacle is ranked 34th). As for Hamilton, they will head out on the road to face off against Dobson at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
