The Silver Bluff Bulldogs will challenge the Horse Creek Academy Stallions at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
Silver Bluff is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Keenan on Tuesday as Silver Bluff made off with an 18-1 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.
Ryley Bowman made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out eight batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). That's the fewest hits she has allowed since back in March of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Haeley Bowman, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Makayla Allen, who scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.
Silver Bluff always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .957. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Horse Creek Academy was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They came out on top against Wagener-Salley by a score of 7-3.
Like Silver Bluff, Horse Creek Academy also got a great game from a two-way player: Adrien Beak. On the mound, she struck out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off six hits. Beak was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Allie Stuart was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Scarlett Hayes was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Silver Bluff's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 4-2. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Horse Creek Academy, the victory got them back to even at 5-5.
Everything went Silver Bluff's way against Horse Creek Academy in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, as Silver Bluff made off with a 12-3 win. Does Silver Bluff have another victory up their sleeve, or will Horse Creek Academy turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
