Baseball Game Preview: Poca Dots vs. Winfield Generals

Poca is 0-10 against Winfield since April of 2019 but things could change on Monday. Poca will head out to square off against Winfield at 6:00 p.m. The contest will give Poca their first taste of in-conference action this season.

Poca came up short against Keyser on Saturday, falling 16-3.

Preston Bonnett made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-2.

Winfield's found some homefield redemption this week after a overtime loss to Point Pleasant on Friday. Winfield narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past Ripley 5-3. The victory continues a trend for the Generals in their matchups with the Vikings: they've now won three in a row.

The team relied heavily on Ean Cox, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Another player making a difference was Brayson Downey, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Poca now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Winfield, their record is now 3-1.

Poca suffered a grim 13-1 defeat to Winfield in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Poca avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
