Basketball Recap: Barker Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Jordyn Kinne and Elise Monaco

Barker scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They lost 54-30 to the Akron Tigers. The loss continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now lost five in a row.

Despite the defeat, Barker had strong showings from Elise Monaco, who went 6 of 12 on her way to 12 points in addition to five boards and four steals, and Jordyn Kinne, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds. With that strong performance, Monaco is now averaging an impressive 2.2 steals per game.

Even though they lost, Barker smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That's the most offensive boards they've managed all season.

Barker's loss dropped their record down to 0-4.

Barker and Cleveland Hill will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Akron, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Akron Tigers take on the Depew Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
