Softball Recap: Portland Has No Trouble Against Morgan

Portland's game on Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Morgan Huskies as they made off with a 21-5 win. That 16 run margin sets a new team best for the Highlanders this season.

Kaelin Mullen tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over five innings while giving up five earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Lily Hale was incredible, getting on base in six of her nine plate appearances with three stolen bases and three runs. Another player making a difference was Abby France, who got on base in four of her seven plate appearances with two runs.

Portland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April.

Portland moved to 5-11 with that victory, which also ended their three-game losing streak. As for Morgan, they are on a 19-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-13.

Portland has already played their next match, a 20-13 win against Windham on the 14th. As for Morgan, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 20-3 loss against Westbrook on the 14th.
