Volleyball Recap: Mansfield Christian Comes Up Short

Mansfield Christian was the 3-1 winner over Danville when they last played one another back in September of 2016, but their luck changed this time around. The Flames fell 3-1 to the Blue Devils on Thursday.

While Mansfield Christian ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-19, 20-25, 25-23.

Adelle Cramer paced Mansfield Christian's offense, picking up 16 kills. Cramer got some help from Mia Running and her 16 assists. Cramer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with six aces.

Danville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kayley Sheldon, who had 13 digs and three aces. That's the most aces Sheldon has posted since back in October of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kenzi Staats, who had 29 assists and three digs.

Mansfield Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Danville, their record is now 2-4.

Looking ahead, Mansfield Christian will take on Central Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be the Flames' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Danville, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 3-0 loss against Crestview on the 30th.
