Preview: Taft Raiders vs. Harlan Hawks

Taft is 1-6 against Harlan since December of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Taft Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Harlan Hawks at 8:00 p.m. Taft has now lost 17 straight, leaving the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.

Taft lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on on Saturday was a bit more commanding. Their tough 86-62 defeat to Jay might stick with them for a while. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.

Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Harlan, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 64-48 loss to Jay on Wednesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Harlan has scored all season.

Harlan's loss came about despite a quality game from Zakee Thompson, who scored 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Jones, who scored ten points.

Taft dropped their record down to 7-25 with that loss, which was their eighth straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.9 points per game. As for Harlan, their defeat dropped their record down to 19-11.

Taft might still be hurting after the 65-43 defeat they got from Harlan when the teams last played back in January. Can Taft avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
