 Vassar is 2-7 against Marlette since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit  on Thursday. The Vassar Vulcans will head out on the road to  square off against  the Marlette Red Raiders at 7:30  p.m. Vassar will have to bring their A-game into this one,  as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 623rd, while Marlette is ranked 274th).
 Vassar lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the  loss they were handed on  on Tuesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Harbor Beach at home  and fell  54-18. Vassar has now  taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
 They got a good chunk of their points from the dynamic duo of 
 Addison Kodrick and 
 Carly Fessler, who each put up five points.   
 Makenna McCloud held things down on the boards with five rebounds.
 Marlette was handed a two-point  defeat in their last  game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Memphis  on Thursday. Marlette breezed by Memphis at home  to the tune of  56-25.
 Vassar's defeat dropped their record down to 3-18. As for Marlette, their win was  their third straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 11-7.
 Vassar might still be hurting after the  54-34 defeat they got from Marlette  in their previous meeting  back in December of 2022. Can Vassar avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
