Silver Creek had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They really took it to the Evergreen Valley Cougars for the full four quarters, racking up a 41-6 win. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Cougars recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.

This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jordan Thompson and Alijah Guzman. Thompson rushed for 96 yards and two scores while Guzman rushed for 110 yards and one TD on only five carries. Those 96 rushing yards gave Thompson a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Silver Creek is taking a road trip to face off against Homestead at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Evergreen Valley, they will square off against Cupertino at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
