St. Joseph Academy had lost three straight headed into Saturday's game, but Max Pokholok didn't let it get to four. St. Joseph Academy walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Monarch Royals on Saturday thanks in part to Pokholok, who had 16 kills, six digs, two blocks, and two aces. Those six digs gave him a new career-high.

St. Joseph Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Monarch, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

St. Joseph Academy has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 victory against Gompers Prep Academy on the 22nd. As for Monarch, they will challenge Bonsall at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monarch is facing Bonsall at the right time seeing as Bonsall is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
