Football Recap: Lumberton Pirates vs. Heide Trask Titans
Lumberton had lost five games at home dating back to last season, but after bumping their record up to 2-2 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. Everything went their way against the Heide Trask Titans as they made off with a 36-13 win. The Pirates' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Lumberton found their leader in sophomore Jayden Graham, who rushed for 121 yards and four TDs on only 12 carries.
As for Heide Trask, they now have a losing record of 2-3. Having soared to a lofty 44 points in the game before, they couldn't push the score so high this time.
Tyreek Moore and Jason Henry certainly did their best on Friday to avoid the loss. Moore rushed for 83 yards and one score, while Henry rushed for 74 yards.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lumberton will welcome Monroe at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates are facing the Redhawks at the right time seeing as the Redhawks are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Heide Trask, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on South Lenoir at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Titans' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
