Kentucky All-State Football Team presented by Suddenlink by Altice

The driving force behind that three-year run is Michael Mayer, a two-way player who ranks as the top tight end in the country and is also one of the best linebackers in the state of Kentucky. In leading Covington Catholic to a 14-0 record this year, Mayer, who has committed to Notre Dame, has been chosen as the Kentucky state Player of the Year presented by Suddenlink by Altice. He headlines the MaxPreps Kentucky All-State Team.

Brian Landis of Douglass is the state Coach of the Year. He guided a Douglass team to the Class 5A championship game and a 14-0 record. Douglass is only in its third year of existence and had previously completed only one full season before reaching the finals this year against Covington Catholic.

QB — Beau Allen, Lexington Catholic, 6-2, 203, Sr.
The Kentucky-bound passer threw for 3,456 yards and 37 touchdowns and was ranked by 247 Sports as the top QB in the state.

QB — Luke Duby, Tates Creek (Lexington), 6-3, 205, Sr.
Led the state in passing yardage with 4,685 yards (283 of 468) and 47 touchdowns.

RB — Braedon Sloan, Wayne County (Monticello), 6-0, 185, Jr.
Led the state in scoring with 56 touchdowns, including 48 on the ground. Also had 2,804 yards rushing on 277 carries.

RB — Jeriah Hightower, Madisonville-North Hopkins (Madisonville), 6-1, 218, Sr.
Led the state in rushing yardage with 3,001 yards on 348 carries and 33 touchdowns.

WR — Miles Thomas, Tates Creek, 6-3, 175, Sr.
Posted the most receiving yardage in the state with 1,797 yards on 77 catches and 23 touchdowns.

WR — Deairious Smith, Lexington Christian, 6-0, 175, Sr.
Led the state in yardage per game at 139. Caught 82 passes for 1,671 yards and 20 touchdowns.

TE — Michael Mayer, Covington Catholic (Park Hills), 6-5, 240, Sr.
Ranked as the top player in the state by 247 Sports, Mayer is headed to Notre Dame. He caught 45 passes for 902 yards and 15 touchdowns and he had 90 tackles on defense.



OL — Walker Parks, Frederick Douglass (Lexington), 6-5, 275
One of the top linemen in the country, Parks was named the 5A District 6 MVP.

OL — John Young, Christian Academy-Louisville (Louisville.), 6-6, 277, Sr.
Ranked by 247 Sports as the No. 4 player in the state.

OL — Jager Burton, Frederick Douglas, 6-4, 271, Jr.
Part of a loaded offensive line at Douglas that also includes Walker Parkers, Burton has emerged as possibly the top junior in the state.

OL — Blake Gossett, Male (Louisville), 6-2, 260, Sr.
Three-year starter for one of the top teams in Kentucky.

OL — Colt Jackson, South Warren (Bowling Green), 6-4, 270, Sr.
The Western Kentucky commit was named All-Southern Kentucky Conference.

AP — Reese Smith, Boyle County (Danville), 5-11, 175, Sr.
Had one of the highest receiving yardage averages in the state at 26.5, catching 51 passes for 1,353 yards and 19 touchdowns.



K — Jeffrey Sexton, St. Xavier (Louisville), 6-1, 157, Sr.
Kicked a state best 10 field goals on the season.

DL — Octavious Oxendine, North Hardin (Radcliff), 6-2, 38, Sr.
Ranked as one of the top defenders in the state by 247 Sports, Oxendine had 62 tackles, 17 tackles for loss and 14.5 sacks.

DL — Tyler Roberson, Trinity (Louisville), 6-3, 255, Sr.
Helped lead Trinity to the 6A state finals and was an all-district selection.

DL — Chase Jones, Glasgow, 6-2, 270, Sr.
Ranked by the Herald Leader and 247 Sports as one of the top defensive linemen in the state, he finished with 42 tackles from his defensive tackle spot.

DL — Wilson Kelly, Boyle County, 6-1, 261, Sr.
The leader of the Boye County defense, Kelly had 84 tackles, 23 tackles for loss and four sacks.

LB — Brycen Huddleston, Highlands (Fort Thomas), 6-0, 210, Sr.
Ranked as one of the state's top linebackers by 247 Sports, Huddleston had 96 tackles and 12 tackles for loss.



LB — Jaylyn Allen, Paintsville, 6-2, 215, Sr.
The Eastern Kentucky recruit has anchored the Paintsville defense and led it to the Class 1A championship game. Had 65 tackles and nine sacks on the season.

LB — Rece Jones, Bowling Green, 6-0, 185, Jr.
Led Bowling Green with 159 tackles on the season. Named All-Southern Kentucky Conference.

DB — Vito Tisdale, Bowling Green, 6-1, 201, Sr.
Ranked as one of the top players in the state by 247 Sports, Tisdale had 89 tackles for the season.

DB — Jordan Lovett, North Hardin, 6-2, 195, Jr.
Led the entire state in interceptions with 15.

DB — Deondre Howard, Central (Louisville), 5-10, 160, Sr.
One of the leaders in interceptions in the state with eight. Also had 30 tackles.

DB — Landen Bartleson, Boyle County, 6-1, 195, Sr.
Ranked as one of the top defensive backs in the state by 247 Sports, Bartleson had 30 tackles and three interceptions.



AP — Demetri Scott, DeSales (Louisville), 6-3, 245, Sr.
Led the entire state in sacks with 24.5. Also had 78 tackles, and 23 tackles for loss. Played tight end on offense and caught eight TD passes.

P — Casey Rauch, Campbell County (Alexandria), 6-2, 210, Sr.
Ranks as the top punter in the state the past two seasons with a 42-yard average.

QB — Drew Hartz, Owensboro Catholic (Owensboro), 6-3, 200, Sr.
Completed 246 of 348 passes for 4,173 yards and 57 touchdowns.

QB — Reed Lanter, Boyle County, 6-1, 180, Sr.
Led Boyle County to the state finals by throwing for 2,977 yards and 39 touchdowns.

RB — Azariah Israel, George Rogers Clark (Winchester), 5-10, 175, Jr.
Third in the state in rushing yardage with 2,346 yards and 28 touchdowns.

RB — Lavell Wright, North Hardin, 6-0, 204, Jr.
Helped lead North Hardin to a 13-1 season by rushing for 1,819 yards and 25 touchdowns.



WR — Franklin Hayes, McCracken County (Paducah, Ky.), 5-10, 200, Sr.
Topped the state in touchdown receptions with 26. Also caught 69 passes for 1,556 yards.

WR — Hagan Edge, Owensboro Catholic, 5-8, 165, Sr.
Caught 83 passes for 1,571 yards and 25 touchdowns.

TE — Jordan Dingle, Bowling Green, 6-4, 230, Jr.
The top tight end in the Class of 2021 in Kentucky, Dingle caught 35 passes for 474 yards and five touchdowns.

OL — Christopher Malala, Male, 6-0, 340, Sr.
A force on the offensive line for the undefeated Class 6A finalists.

OL — Dane Jackson, Madison Southern (Berea), 6-0, 275, Sr.
Headed to play at North Texas.

OL — Jon Nalley, Daviess County (Owensboro), 6-6, 275, Jr.
Ranked as one of the top junior linemen in the state by 247 Sports.



OL — Parker Bates, Apollo (Owensboro), 6-5, 310, Jr.
Opened up holes for a rushing attack that had over 3,000 yards on the season.

OL — Jaiden Campbell, East Jessamine (Nicholasville), 6-4, 278, Sr.
Had 38 pancake blocks on an offensive line that blocked for the leading rushing offense in the state.

AP — Izayah Cummings, Male, 6-3, 212, Sr.
Explosive scoring threat had 1,056 yards receiving and scored 12 touchdowns on the season.

K — David Gronotte, Covington Catholic, 6-0, 160, Jr.
Connected on 66-of-69 extra points and eight field goals

DL — Hosea Knifeley, Butler (Louisville), 6-3, 225, Sr.
Racked up 62 tackles, 15 tackles for loss and three sacks this year.

DL — Luke Clark, South Oldham (Crestwood), 6-3, 230, Sr.
Among the state leaders in tackles for loss and sacks with 28 and 12 respectively. Also had 99 total tackles.



DL — Cidney Mills, Fern Creek (Louisville), 6-3, 185, Sr.
Led Class 6A in sacks (19) and tackles for loss (31) while also making 80 tackles.

DL — Brady Holleran, Franklin County (Frankfort), 6-2, 225, Sr.
Had huge numbers, posting 154 tackles, 19 tackles for loss and 19.5 sacks.

LB — Justice Thompson, Ballard (Louisville), 5-11, 235, Jr.
Racked up 119 tackles, including 23 tackles for loss.

LB — Cody Goatley, Graves County (Mayfield), 6-2, 202, Sr.
Had 139 tackles, four tackles for loss and four sacks this year.

LB — Jack Dingle, Trinity (Louisville), 6-4, 205, Jr.
One of the top linebacker prospects in the state from the Class of 2021, Dingle was all-district this year.

LB — Charlie Ely, Trinity, 6-2, 220, Jr.
Along with teammate Jack Dingle, Ely is a Division 1 prospect and one of the top linebackers in the Class of 2021.



DB — Carson Watson, Taylor County (Campbellsville), 5-10, 140, Sr.
Among the state leaders with 11 interceptions.

DB — Gavin George, Central Hardin (Cecilia)
Among the state leaders in interceptions with nine. Also had 49 tackles.

DB — Ja'rel Montgomery, Bardstown, 5-11, 160, Sr.
Among the state leaders with 11 interceptions, Montgomery returned four of them for touchdowns.

AP — Hunter McCloud, Johnson Central (Paintsville), 6-2, 205, Sr.
Posted 140 tackles and 16 tackles for loss

P — Jackson Smith, Boyle County, 5-11, 175, So.
One of the top punters and kickers in the state as a sophomore, Smith had a state-best 86 extra points and eight field goals.
