York Institute came tearing into Tuesday's matchup with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 35.9 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Gatlinburg-Pittman Highlanders by a score of 57-49. This was a revenge game for the Dragons: when they faced off against the Highlanders back in December of 2024, they had to take a 52-46 loss.

Gatlinburg-Pittman lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Maliyah Glasper, who went 7 for 16 en route to 20 points and six boards. Glasper's evening made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Chloe Mejias, who posted nine points and five rebounds.

York Institute pushed their record up to 19-5 with the victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.0 points per game. As for Gatlinburg-Pittman, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-9 record this season.

York Institute and Gatlinburg-Pittman should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Tennessee Rankings. York Institute (ranked 21st) will meet Jackson County (ranked 120th) at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Gatlinburg-Pittman will face off against Oneida at 6:00 p.m. on Friday up 197 places (46 vs. 243).
