Baseball Recap: Citrus Hill Takes a Loss

Citrus Hill lost against Heritage last Tuesday, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Hawks fell just short of the Patriots by a score of 6-5. The Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Joel Raya was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Noah Brion, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3.

Citrus Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Heritage, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

Citrus Hill and Heritage should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps California Rankings. The Hawks will face off against Orange Vista at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday with a big rank advantage (175 vs. 372). The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Citrus Hill 2.3, the Coyotes 3) so any runs scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Heritage (ranked 251st) will meet JW North (ranked 822nd) at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
