Basketball Recap: Cary Academy's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Cary Academy waltzed into their contest on Saturday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came out on top against the Charlotte Christian Knights by a score of 70-58. This was payback for the Chargers, who suffered an 83-77 loss the last time these two teams met.

Cary Academy got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was McCoy Williams out in front who went 6-for-13 to rack up 18 points along with six assists and five boards. Williams is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 15 or more in each of the last four games he's played. Julian Tweedy was another key player, putting up 16 points in addition to six rebounds and three blocks.

Charlotte Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marshall Nicholson, who posted 15 points. Another player making a difference was Austin Bradway, who shot 56% from the field on his way to 11 points and eight boards.

Cary Academy's record is now 4-5. As for Charlotte Christian, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Coming up, Cary Academy will head out to challenge Trinity Academy at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Chargers will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season. As for Charlotte Christian, they will be playing at home against South Charlotte at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Knights will need to watch out since the Thunder have now posted at least 55 points in their last four games.
