Baseball Recap: Antioch Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Antioch waltzed into their game on Thursday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over the Round Lake Panthers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 15-0 on Monday.

Antioch got a great performance from Jack Majerowski as he kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over five innings pitched. What's more, Majerowski posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2024.

On the hitting side, Nathan Yeager was excellent, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March.

Antioch pushed their record up to 21-10-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Round Lake, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-20.

Looking ahead, Antioch will take on Huntley at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Round Lake will be paying especially close attention to the Sequoits' contest: after the Sequoits face off against the Red Raiders, they'll take on Round Lake again at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
