Recap: Elba Tigers vs. Ariton Purple Cats
The Elba Tigers pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 67-59 to Ariton. Elba has not had much luck with Ariton recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ariton to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ian Senn, who scored 15 points. The contest was Senn's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matthew McNair, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Elba's loss dropped their record down to 8-7. As for Ariton, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten games, which provided a massive bump to their 10-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Elba and Houston County will face off at 5:30 p.m. on January 8th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Houston County has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Ariton, they will head out on the road to face off against Abbeville at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
