Recap: Green Canyon Wolves vs. Mountain Crest Mustangs
There's no place like home for the Green Canyon Wolves, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Friday. They walked away with a 61-49 victory over Mountain Crest on Wednesday. For Green Canyon, this counts as revenge for the 50-46 defeat Mountain Crest walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January.
Green Canyon's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Layker Ward, who scored 14 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Jared Anderson, who scored 14 points.
Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Joseph Hunsaker, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Josh Arnell, who scored 16 points along with two blocks.
Green Canyon's victory bumped their record up to 15-5. As for Mountain Crest, they dropped their record down to 12-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Green Canyon will challenge Logan at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Green Canyon is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season. As for Mountain Crest, they will head out on the road to face off against Bear River at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Mountain Crest focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Wednesday.
