Baseball Recap: Charlestown Comes Up Short

Charlestown lost against Madison back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pirates took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cubs.

Charlestown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zach Helton, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Charlestown's defeat dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Madison, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season.

Charlestown will host Clarksville at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Generals have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 12.64 runs per game on average), something the Pirates will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to face off against Batesville at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
