Baseball Game Preview: Delran Bears vs. Pitman Panthers

The Delran Bears will challenge the Pitman Panthers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Delran is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Maple Shade 15-5 on Wednesday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Bears considering their one-run performance the contest before.

Meanwhile, Pitman got themselves on the board against Salem on Thursday, but Salem never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 11-0 win. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Panthers yet this season.

Pitman got a great performance from Liam Bially as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.

At the plate, Steven Clifford was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run. Another player making a difference was Logan Williams, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Pitman always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Pitman's victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-4. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.8 runs on average over those games. As for Delran, they now have a winning record of 5-4.

Everything went Delran's way against Pitman when the teams last played back in May of 2023, as Delran made off with a 10-0 victory. Do the Bears have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
