Basketball Recap: First Assembly Christian Academy Takes a Loss

First Assembly Christian Academy has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were outmatched by the Santa Fe Raiders and fell 78-34. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Raiders are ranked 191st).

Despite the defeat, First Assembly Christian Academy had strong showings from Mason Burke, who posted 13 points, and Jausten Rivera, who earned three points. Rivera is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last five games he's played.

Santa Fe's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Antonio Hall, who had nine points and four steals. Those four steals gave Hall a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Matthew Stevens, who put up 11 points.

First Assembly Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 10-3. As for Santa Fe, their win bumped their record up to 7-5.

First Assembly Christian Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 55-30 defeat against Suwannee on the 28th. As for Santa Fe, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-57 loss against Forest on the 28th.
