Kaneland is 8-2 against Wheaton Academy since March of 2017 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Knights will look to defend their home field against the Warriors at 4:30 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Kaneland comes in on eight and Wheaton Academy on five.

Kaneland's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-0 margin over Plano. Considering the Knights have won 13 games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Wheaton Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over West Aurora on Saturday, taking the game 7-3. That's two games straight that the Warriors have won by exactly four runs.

Wheaton Academy got a great performance from Bryce Legel as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. Legel has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Dom Murrell was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Brandon Kiebles was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.

Wheaton Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as West Aurora only managed six hits.

Kaneland's win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 24-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Wheaton Academy, their win bumped their record up to 21-14.

Everything went Kaneland's way against Wheaton Academy when the teams last played back in March, as Kaneland made off with a 13-0 victory. Will the Knights repeat their success, or do the Warriors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
