Basketball Recap: Snook Takes a Loss

Snook came up into this matchup off a tough 37-point defeat last Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Iola Bulldogs by a score of 49-46 on Tuesday. The Bluejays were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 77-56.

Leading Iola to victory were Tyler EllioTT and Brody Vaughn. Elliott posted 20 points, while Vaughn dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten boards. The matchup was Elliott's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Grant Goodney was another key player, putting up four points in addition to seven rebounds and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Snook and nudges their season record down to 15-12. As for Iola, their win bumped their record up to 9-12.

Snook will head out on the road to face off against Bremond at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Iola, they will welcome Hearne at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hearne will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Iola surely won't give up without a fight.
