Softball Recap: Cortez Takes a Loss

Cortez managed to slip by Tempe the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Colts came up short against the Buffaloes on Monday, falling 21-11. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Cortez saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ileanna Laborin, who went 2-for-3 with one double.

Cortez's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 2-6. As for Tempe, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Buffaloes beat Cortez by a score of 16-6 on Wednesday.
